Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions provide useful information for customers, while addressing common issues related to the product, legality, and selection.

(Kratom Basic)

  1. What is kratom?
Kratom, scientifically known as Mitragyna speciosa, is a tropical evergreen tree native to Southeast Asia. The leaves of the kratom tree have a long history of use for their medicinal and recreational properties, which contribute to an improved quality of life.

  2. Is kratom safe?
When used responsibly, kratom is generally considered safe for many individuals. However, it is important to be aware of appropriate portion sizes, potential side effects, and individual differences in reactions.

  3. What is the typical method of consumption for kratom?
Kratom is currently consumed in various forms, including powder, capsules, and as a brewed tea. The method of consumption often depends on personal preference and the desired effects.

  4. What active compounds are present in kratom?
The active compounds found in kratom are called alkaloids. Mitragynine, an indole alkaloid, is the most abundant psychoactive compound. Some of the minor alkaloids include speciociliatine, speciogynine, and paynantheine, among others. These alkaloids interact with receptors in the brain, producing different effects.

  5. What are the traditional uses of kratom?
In Southeast Asia, kratom has a long history of use, spanning centuries, due to its analgesic, stimulant, and mood-enhancing properties. It has also been employed in traditional ceremonies and social settings.

  6. Is kratom considered a drug or a supplement?
Kratom is frequently classified as an herbal supplement. However, its classification varies by region and country. It is imperative to be cognizant of the legal status in your area.

  7. Is kratom addictive?
Although there is a potential for physical dependence with long-term and frequent use, the abuse potential of kratom is considered lower than that of traditional opioids, and withdrawal symptoms are mild. Responsible use is essential for minimizing risks. If you are unable to manage your kratom use, it is advisable to consult with a healthcare professional.

  8. What is the mechanism of action of kratom in the body?
The alkaloids present in leaf kratom interact with receptors in the brain, influencing mood, pain perception, and energy levels. However, the precise mechanism of action of leaf kratom remains to be fully elucidated.

  9. How does kratom differ from opioids?
While the alkaloids present in leaf kratom interact with opioid receptors, the plant itself is not classified as an opioid. Mitragynine, the most abundant alkaloid, is a partial agonist at the μ-opioid receptor, while other alkaloids are antagonists at this receptor. The effects of leaf kratom are generally milder, and the risk of respiratory depression is lower compared to traditional opioids.

  10. Is it possible to use kratom to alleviate pain?
Kratom is reported to have analgesic properties. We do not recommend using kratom as a treatment to replace approved medications.

  11. What are the effects of kratom on mood and anxiety levels?
Kratom has been shown to enhance mood and reduce anxiety, likely through its impact on serotonin and dopamine receptors, leading to an overall sense of well-being. Individual responses may vary.
